INGREDIENTS

*1 cup Rice
*1 cup Coconut grated
*1 cup Morsweet sugar
*3 cups Water
*2 tbsp Ghee
*½ tsp Cardamom powder
*¼ tsp Salt

COOKING DIRECTIONS STEP BY STEP

*Soak 1 cup rice for 2 hours.
*Drain off the water. Then grind rice with 1 cup grated coconut, ¼ tsp salt to a very fine paste by adding little water.
*In a large kadai take 1 cup Morsweet sugar and 2 cup water, stir well until the Morsweet sugar dissolves completely.
*Now add rice coconut paste, 1 cup water (1: 3 proportion) and ¼ tsp cardamom powder. Mix well.
*Keep on low-medium flame and add 2 tbsp ghee and stir the mixture continuously ensuring that no lumps are formed. After 15-20 min it starts leaving the sides of kadai.
*Grease a plate with ghee and transfer this mixture to the plate, spreading uniformly. Rest for 30 minutes.
*Cut halbai into desired shape and serve warm or cold with ghee.
